What makes your clinic unique?
All of the psychologists at Connecte have completed doctoral studies and have strong backgrounds in research. It is important to us to keep up-to-date with the latest psychological research, incorporating empirically validated techniques into our practice to provide you with the best care to get you the results you are looking for. Often, psychotherapy is focused on alleviating the negative. We hope to not only help you decrease unhelpful thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, but also to maximize your potential and positivity, allowing you to lead a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
We aim to make our clients feel comfortable and our office spaces are peaceful and pleasant. We are well located, conveniently close to public transportation and parking is available on the street.

What is the goal of the first session?
The goal of the first session is to identify your needs and ensure that cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) is an appropriate fit in an effort to best help you meet your objectives. Your reasons for consulting will be discussed as well as things you would like to improve as a result of coming to therapy. You will be asked about symptoms that may have been causing distress that you would like to reduce or eliminate. In collaboration with your psychologist you will create a list of goals to work on in therapy. Finally, your psychologist will take time to answer any questions you might have about the therapeutic process.
Is my personal information safe?
All information shared with your psychologist is strictly confidential except in the case of imminent danger of death or severe injury. In such a case, the information may only be shared with those in danger or someone who can help them. Your file is kept in a secure location and only your psychologist has access to your personal information.
How will I know if therapy is working?
Many clients notice improvements such as improved mood or a reduction in unpleasant symptoms after a few sessions when they are applying the tools learned in session between regular appointments.
Do I need a referral to make an appointment?

How many sessions will I need?
Cognitive behaviour therapy is short term and goal oriented. The duration of therapy depends on your needs and goals, but on average lasts for approximately 10 to 20 sessions. Often clients report improvements after a few sessions, particularly if they attend regular sessions and apply the skills in their day-to-day lives between sessions.
Does insurance cover my sessions?
Most insurance plans cover “psychological services” for services provided by members of l’Ordre des Psychologues du Quebec (OPQ). All of our psychologists are members of the OPQ and will provide you with the required receipts after each session. The amount covered varies depending on the insurance company and the plan. Contact your insurance provider for the specifics of your plan.
