Victoria Franco is a doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at McGill University, where she conducts research in the Biopsychosocial Examination of Eating Patterns (BEEP) Lab under the supervision of Dr. Sarah Racine. She completed her B.A. in Psychology and Spanish and her M.S. in Community Health and Prevention Research at Stanford University.
Victoria has extensive experience working with individuals across the spectrum of eating disorders—with a particular focus on binge eating and body image disturbances—as well as mood and anxiety disorders and adult ADHD. Prior to her doctoral studies, she worked as a clinical research coordinator at McLean Hospital, where she worked closely with individuals with binge-type eating disorders. She also facilitated eating disorder prevention groups through the Stanford School of Medicine’s Eating Disorders Research Unit. Her graduate research focuses on identifying distinct mechanistic subtypes underlying binge eating.
Victoria employs an integrative cognitive-behavioural approach, drawing on third-wave therapies including behavioural activation, acceptance and commitment therapy, and mindfulness-based strategies, and adapts her approach to each client’s needs. She is committed to providing a collaborative, evidence-based, and process-oriented therapeutic space, and values working within interdisciplinary, team-based training environments.
In her free time, Victoria enjoys cooking, baking, running, food photography, and hiking.
