Dr. Annélie S. Anestin is a clinical psychologist and a member of the Order of Psychologists of Quebec. Annélie completed her PhD at UQAM in the cognitive behavioral approach for adults. Her research focused on the impact of a yoga intervention on chemotherapy side effects among breast cancer patients. She completed her clinical training within several departments of the Jewish General Hospital including the outpatient cognitive behavioural clinic, the chronic pain management clinic, emergency follow-up clinic and the psychosocial oncology program.
As a psychologist, Annélie has experience with depression, anxiety disorders, chronic pain, stress and anger management, grief, existential issues and cancer related distress. She relies on scientifically recognized practices. She is dedicated to provide a collaborative, empathetic and warm therapeutic setting. She believes in helping individuals to promote their self-efficacy in solving their issues, reduce their distress and improve their quality of life. Annélie’s favourite topics include locus of control, emotional regulation, health psychology, teaching and yoga.
In her spare time, Annélie enjoys practicing yoga and endeavours to further her yoga teacher training skills. She also enjoys anything related to music, discovering new restaurants and spending quality time with family and friends.
