Alexa Fogel is a doctoral candidate in counselling psychology at McGill University. Her thesis focuses on the role perfectionism plays in social interactions amongst individuals diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder. She holds a bachelor’s degree in honors psychology from Concordia University and a master’s degree in counselling psychology from McGill University.
Alexa completed her first clinical training at McGill’s Psychoeducational and Counselling Center where she had the opportunity to work with adults presenting various presenting difficulties such as depression, anxiety, stress management and interpersonal issues. She then received additional training, completing her doctoral practicum at the Montreal Therapy Center. During this training, she learned to work with clients struggling with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, emotional regulation and body image struggles.
In her spare time, Alexa enjoys listening to podcasts, practicing guitar and spending time with her loved ones, including her dog, Finn.
