Dr. Ghislaine Badawi is a Clinical Psychologist, registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health & Care Professions Councils (HCPC) in the United Kingdom, an out-of-province member of the Order of Psychologists of Quebec and a member of the ADELI directory (France).
She holds a Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Concordia University, a graduate diploma in Clinical Psychology, a Master’s degree in Psychiatry from McGill University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a Specialization in Behavioral Neuroscience. Dr. Badawi has made significant contributions through extensive research, peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals and clinical work.
Dr. Badawi has had diverse clinical experiences. She trained at the McGill University Health Center (MUHC) completing rotations in the Personality Disorders Program, the Anxiety Disorders Program, the Mood Disorders Program and at The Centre for CBT research, Training and Intervention. She has also worked in private practice with a diverse and international population in Montreal, France and recently in the UK.
Her clinical and research interests include better understanding and working with adults struggling with various emotional and interpersonal difficulties including emotion dysregulation, anxiety, depression, Borderline Personality Disorder, trauma, eating disorders, substance use and psychological difficulties following traumatic brain injury. Her approach to psychotherapy is integrative and evidence-based drawing on Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mentalization-Based Therapy (MBT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). She works collaboratively with each individual and tailors psychotherapy to their needs in order to help them reach their goals.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling and discovering different countries, cultures and cuisines and taking long walks (weather permitting!). She also enjoys taking care of her dog, sharing good meals with friends and family and watching movies and series.
