Marie-Alexandre Ayotte, M.Sc. Ps.Ed.

Psychoeducator & Psychotherapist
Marie-Alexandre Ayotte is a psychoeducator, member of the Order of Psychoeducators of Quebec, and a psychotherapist, member of the Order of Psychologists of Quebec.  She holds a Master’s degree in psychoeducation from l’Université de Montréal, completed in 2015.

As she has progressed in this field, Marie-Alexandre has gained both clinical and research-based experience working with a diverse clientele.  While doing so, she developed a strong interest in eating disorders, self-esteem and body image.  She has also acquired experience working with individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, and relational problems. Her practice centers on Cognitive Behavioral and mindfulness-based approaches, but she draws from other approaches to offer a personalized, integrative treatment to every client.

In addition to her own practice, she is actively involved in the prevention of problems related to weight and body image. She believes in the importance of sharing information, raising public awareness and engaging in preventative activities as essential tools to foster change at both the individual and community levels.

She holds the individual at the center of her approach and views a collaborative therapeutic process as key to all positive change. She believes that being a therapist requires the ability to initiate change, while accompanying the client through this process with empathy and openness. Comprehension of the individual as a whole and respecting their personal rhythm and space is an essential part of this process.

In her free time, Marie-Alexandre appreciates moments with loved ones as well as spending time alone with her dog. Naturally curious, she enjoys discovering new activities as well as continually learning about others.
