Emma Kruger, BSW, MSW

Emma Kruger is a Couple and Family Therapy (CFT) student in the MSc(A) Couple and Family Therapy program at McGill University. She holds both a Bachelor of Social Work and a Master of Social Work from McGill University. During her MSW, she completed her clinical placement at the Douglas Hospital Eating Disorders Continuum, where she provided individual therapy, using cognitive-behavioral approaches, and facilitated groups. Emma is a member of the Ordre des travailleurs sociaux et des thérapeutes conjugaux et familiaux du Québec (OTSTCFQ).

For the past 4 years, Emma has worked as a clinical social worker at the Montreal Children’s Hospital in the Adolescent Medicine Eating Disorders Program and the Centre of Excellence in Adolescent Severe Obesity program, where she has provided individual, family, and parent-focused interventions.

At Connecte, Emma is completing her clinical training in Couple and Family Therapy. She is receiving training in structural family therapy, emotionally focused therapy (EFT), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), systemic therapy, and couple-based cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBCT). Her approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and relational, with a focus on creating a supportive space where individuals can explore their concerns and build on their existing strengths. She works with couples, families, parents, adolescents, and young adults.

Outside of her clinical work, Emma enjoys watching movies, trying new restaurants/cafés around the city, and spending time with friends and family.
