Chaimaa El Mouslih

Therapist, PhD Student
Languages of practice: English, French

Chaimaa El Mouslih is a doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at McGill University and a practicum student with Connecte Psychology Clinic. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Science from McGill University. Her doctoral research examines speech markers of psychosis in diverse and multilingual populations, at the meeting point of language, bilingualism, and clinical practice.

Through her practicum and clinical training, Chaimaa has gained experience working with children, teens, and parents in a clinic setting. She provided psychoeducational assessments and supported young people navigating developmental disorders, behavioural challenges, emotion regulation difficulties, and anxiety. She also coached caregivers as they build the skills to support their children.

Chaimaa specializes in working with children, adolescents, and young adults facing anxiety, emotion regulation, anger management, and behavioural difficulties, along with parents seeking guidance. Given her diverse areas of focus, her therapeutic approach is continually shaped to each client’s needs, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, exposure-based methods, mindfulness, and parental skills training.

Chaimaa aims to build a warm, safe, and engaging relationship with each of her clients. She is there to walk alongside them on the way to their goals and well-being, adapting her approach to fit each client’s age and stage. As a multilingual clinician, she offers therapy in both English and French, and she strives to honour the cultural background and values that every client brings.

Beyond her research and clinical work, Chaimaa enjoys getting lost in a good fantasy novel, exploring Montreal’s restaurant scene, cooking for the people she loves, and working on her latest ambition: becoming a home barista.
