Jodie Richardson, PhD

Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Jodie Richardson is a clinical psychologist, member of the Order of Psychologists of Quebec and founder and Director of Connecte. She completed her undergraduate & graduate studies in psychology at McGill University and carried out her PhD research at the Eating Disorders Program of the Douglas Mental Health University Institute. Throughout her various clinical trainings she acquired skills working with clients with eating disorders, anxiety disorders, depression, chronic pain and cardiovascular illness and cultivated an expertise in the psychology of overeating, binge eating and obesity. Jodie co-directed a successful cognitive behavioural psychology clinic for three years during which time she gained experience in supervision, teaching and management.

Jodie’s favorite topics include the mind-body connection, health psychology and human motivation. She is interested in using the science of psychology to help people in a variety of settings, including the workplace, schools, sports organizations and homes. Some of her current projects include contributing to Connecte’s weekly blog; developing programs that enhance both mental and physical well-being and capitalize on the interactive benefits of the two; and implementing wellness and leadership programs in the workplace and other organizations.

When Jodie’s not working she enjoys sharing food and wine with friends and spending time with her three boys (one being her husband). She enjoys conversations and being active and especially likes combining the two in her running club-book club or on long bike rides with her husband. She loves podcasts, books & articles and appreciates when people share their favorites with her.
