+ Psychological Skills Training (read More)

We’ve taken what we think are the most important elements for psychological wellness and fitness (both from tested and true theories and cutting-edge research) and have made them easily digestible for you and your team. We focus on optimizing Mindset, Actions, Emotions, and Connections through:

Mindfulness: In the work place Mindfulness can provide individuals with the tools to improve focus, time management and innovation; better manage stress; and improve interpersonal effectiveness and leadership skills. Motivation, habits & behaviour: Habits account for a large part of our behaviours and are developed in the workplace for better or for worse. We will also delve into research on motivation to teach you the most effective ways to motivate yourself and others on your team. We will provide strategies to help make big projects more manageable and less overwhelming, including breaking things down into smaller chunks and scheduling time to complete and follow-up on each one of these steps. Emotion regulation & resilience: Emotions have the power to influence our behavior in a split second, sometimes in a way that is not in our best interest. We will help you understand your emotions and give you tools so that you can deal with difficult emotions effectively.

Maximizing potential, positivity and fulfillment: New literature from positive psychology suggests that happier employees are more engaged and productive. Interpersonal effectiveness: To be an inspiring leader and effective colleague we need to know how to really listen and understand people before responding. We will help you learn how to listen and take other people’s perspectives. We will teach you tools for assertiveness, problem-solving and negotiation that can help you set reasonable limits while staying a team player.

Body connection & presence: Our body holds our potential for understanding & managing our emotions, it is our vehicle for communicating with people, and it allows us to feel energized or not. Learning to develop a good relationship with your body leads to greater self-care and more empowerment. + Physical Health and Wellness *(Read More)*

Despite all the knowledge about the benefits of exercise and good eating, for both physical and mental health, people find it difficult to maintain good habits; this is most often due to difficulties with some of the topics covered in our psychological skills training module (“bad” habits, no time, difficulty planning, stress, mind-body disconnect). Good nutrition and physical exercise are the basic components for development of a healthy system; it is difficult to maximize potential in other systems without having the hardware (your body) healthy and strong. Coupled with our psychological skills training, our physical health and wellness module will help your team feel healthier, stronger and thrive.

Energizing nutrition: Our dietitian can help you learn how to be healthy on-the-go with wellness strategies for busy professionals. She can also explain how to eat for increased energy, giving you tips and foods for vibrancy in the workplace and at home. Check out our dietician's website, Motive Nutrition, to learn more.

Moving often and moving well: We offer a variety of talks and workshops on physical activity and movement including talks on how to move well and move often both in exercise and daily activities (lifting, habits, ergonomics in the day); how to help the body recover from exercise, prolonged desk work, and stress; and 1-hr yoga sessions.

 
 

 
 
 
 

+ Mental Health Prevention and Intervention (read More)

The purpose of our Mental Health Prevention and Intervention training programs is to provide people and organizations with the knowledge and tools to identify, prevent, and alleviate common mental health issues, either in themselves or in their team members.

Mental Health 101: This workshop can be adapted for employees and team members, as well as leaders such as individuals in Human Resources, managers or teachers. We will help you identify, understand, and prevent some of the most common mental health challenges people face on a daily basis, including depression, social anxiety, performance anxiety, and panic attacks. You will learn strategies to deal with such problems when they arise, prevent them from getting worse, and minimize their affect on work performance and well-being. Through interactive and engaging presentations, our goal is to empower you with the knowledge you need to ensure a mentally healthy workplace for yourself and your team.

Returning to work after sick leave or parental leave: This program has been developed to help organizations develop best practices in order to re-integrate employees returning to work and to support and educate individuals who may be having trouble re-entering the workplace.

Each of our training programs is available in a variety of formats to best suit your organization’s needs:

Short talks:

Short 1-hour talks or “lunch and learns”.

Workshops and Training Programs:

We will help devise the best format for your workplace based on an initial consultation at your organization. The format may consist of half-day, full-day or two-day workshops or you can build your own long-term program for your organization.  All workshops will be followed with practice guidelines to keep people practicing and implementing strategies for their personal development.

Consulting:

We will consult with you and your team after sessions or between sessions either by Skype, phone or in-person. Choose a main contact or contacts in your organization and we will help ensure that that leader keeps learning, inspiring others and bringing new knowledge to the team.
