Rhea Marshall-Denton is a Ph.D. candidate in clinical psychology at the Université du Québec à Montréal and a doctoral affiliate of the Ordre des psychologues du Québec. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at McGill University. Her doctoral research focuses on the relationship between social pressures, family dynamics and substance use behaviours in young adolescents. She completed her clinical training in the Mood Disorders Program, Anxiety Program (including in the Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders Clinic) and Bariatric Psychology Program of the CBT Unit at the Allan Memorial Institute. She also trained at the Centre de Services Psychologiques de l’UQAM.

From these experiences, she gained skills in cognitive-behavioural-therapy with adults experiencing a range of difficulties including depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating disorders, relationship problems and difficulty coping with personal crisis and adjustment to change. Rhea also has years of experience working with young adults and adolescents struggling with procrastination, perfectionism and low self-esteem.

Rhea is passionate about helping clients lead more satisfying and meaningful lives. Her clinical approach is warm, compassionate and tailored to clients’ needs. She seeks to help clients connect with their inner and outer worlds by balancing goal and change oriented work that is based on values with processes that promote acceptance of vulnerabilities, difficult emotions and who one is. Her therapeutic approach is integrative and process-oriented. It draws on dialectical, cognitive-behavioural, acceptance-based, schema-based and emotion-focused modalities. Rhea works in English and French with adults and adolescents and strives to build strong client-therapist relationships by demonstrating authenticity, flexibility and humour.

Aside from loving her work, Rhea enjoys quiet downtime at home, high energy outdoor activities and exploring new places, all the while surrounded by her favourite people.
