Nada Kadhim

Therapist, PhD/PsyD Candidate

Nada Kadhim is a doctoral candidate in clinical and social psychology at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) and a doctorial affiliate with the Order of Psychologists of Québec.  Her thesis focuses on the role of unhealthy eating group norms on group members’ eating behaviours, motivation for eating as well as well-being. She holds a Bachelor’s degree with a major in psychology from McGill University.

Nada completed her first clinical training at the UQAM Center for Psychological Services where she had the opportunity to work with adults presenting various struggles such as depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and interpersonal issues. She then received extensive training in anxiety disorders by completing both of her clinical internships at the Anxiety Disorders Clinic of the Douglas Mental Health University Institute. During this training, she learned to work with clients suffering from anxiety disorders (e.g., social anxiety disorder, generalized anxiety disorder), obsessive-compulsive disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder using both individual and group therapy. Nada is interested in working with clients struggling from a wide range of difficulties including anxiety, mood and eating disorders.

Nada employs cognitive behavioural therapy as well as mindfulness and compassion-based practices in her therapeutic approach. More generally, she adapts therapy to her clients’ needs. Nada establishes a warm, compassionate and collaborative relationship with her clients. In addition, she offers them a space where they can gain a better understanding of themselves, their needs and their emotions as well as improve their quality of life.

In her spare time, Nada enjoys reading books, listening to podcasts, watching television series and doing outdoor activities such as biking and hiking with her loved ones.
