Dr. Sara Colalillo is a clinical psychologist and member of the Order of Psychologists of Quebec. She completed her PhD at The University of British Columbia in 2019, where she conducted several research projects on parenting and family relationships, and gained extensive experience working with families of children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. Dr. Sara also trained at BC Children’s Hospital as well as McMaster Children’s Hospital, working in the Child and Youth Mental Health and Pediatric Chronic Pain Programs. She then worked as a psychologist in Vancouver, both in private and in the public sector at the Maples Adolescent Treatment Centre. In addition to Connecte, she currently works at the Montreal Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Sara works collaboratively with youth and their caregivers in leading purposeful, meaningful lives. She takes an evidence-based approach to treatment and is committed to helping children, teens, and their families feel understood and empowered. Dr. Sara treats a range of mental health difficulties in school-age children and teens, including anxiety, low mood, emotion dysregulation, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. She also provides support to parents in helping their children cope with challenges. In so doing, Dr. Sara draws from cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical-behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and emotion-focused family therapy. She tailors her approach to meet the needs and goals of each family.
In her spare time, Dr. Sara is busy rediscovering her beautiful home city of Montreal! She loves going to restaurants, spending time with loved ones, being active, and lounging around with her cat (Juniper!) over a good movie.
