Stéphanie Correia, PhD

Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Stéphanie Correia is a clinical psychologist and member of the Ordre des Psychologues du Québec. She completed a clinical and research PhD at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Concordia University. She completed her clinical training at the Child Psychiatry Out-Patient service at the Jewish General Hospital and the Centre de Services Psychologiques de l’UQAM. In her doctoral research, she examined associations between children’s aggressive behaviours and their friendship experiences in the school context. She practices at Connecte Montreal Psychology Group and in the Santé Mentale Jeunesse service of the CISSS de Laval.

Stéphanie is specialized in intervening with children, adolescents and their families, providing treatment for diverse issues including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, adjustment problems and relationship problems. She conducts psychotherapy primarily within a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach, integrating elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and play therapy, according to the client’s needs and goals.

Outside of her research and clinical interests, Stéphanie enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing with her dog, reading and yoga.
