Dr. Natsumi Sawada is a clinical psychologist and Connecte collaborator living in Edmonton, Alberta. She is a member of the College of Psychologists of British Columbia. She is passionate about helping others cope with difficulties and develop their inner capacities for resilience, connection, purpose and well being through the use of psychotherapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness and meditation training.

Natsumi completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology at McGill University. During her graduate studies she completed over six years of clinical training in private clinics, at the Psychology Department and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Clinic at the Royal Victoria Hospital, and at the CBT Clinic and Youth Service at the Jewish General Hospital, where she provided therapy to youth and adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties including mood and anxiety disorders. Natsumi has pursued additional clinical training to develop skills for providing therapy to individuals with eating disorders and to specialize in providing mindfulness-based therapies (e.g., Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, and ACT) and teaching meditation to individuals and groups.

Natsumi is curious and a life-long learner and especially loves learning about human psychology, neuroscience, philosophy, the mind-body connection, and healthy living. When she is not working she enjoys music and drawing; horseback riding, swimming, hiking, biking, and picnicking outdoors; and connecting with others and good conversations. She is also an avid meditation and yoga practitioner.
